Day #1 - Isn't It Romantic

Rebel Wilson plays a woman who constantly feel invisible and disrespected by the people in her life. She also doesn't believe in love. One afternoon, she gets mugged and hits her head, and she wakes up in a rom com. She has an incredible apartment, everyone is wildly attractive, and Liam Hemsworth falls in love with her.

I watched this movie when it first came out in 2019 and honestly, it didn't leave much of an impression on me. After watching it again, I can see why.

The first half hour is fun and has a few good laughs in it. It does drop off in the middle and I did lose interest a little bit. But after the classic group musical number, it does pick up again to make a really sweet and uplifting ending.

This movie has all the classic rom com traits; the insecure woman, the gay best friend, the rival coworker, and the guy who is her oldest friend who she doesn't realise in in love with her. You also get the usual makeover scene and few very sweet epiphanies.

The great thing about this movie is that it takes all these classic rom com elements and embraces the cheesiness of them. It's a film that doesn't take itself seriously at all.

So if you're looking for a cheesy, easy watch with a good comedic element to it and a stellar cast, look no further that Isn't It Romantic.
