Day #3 - Set It Up

Two assistants, Harper (Zoey Deutch) and Charlie (Glen Powell), set up their two bosses, Kirsten (Lucy Liu) and Rick (Taye Diggs), and run their relationship to give them both some more free time outside of the office. They run into many comedic situations trying to keep the relationship going and discover how compatible they are in the process.

Set It Up is a fun, wholesome movie that keeps me laughing throughout even though I've watched it a thousand times. Not only are the lead cast fantastically funny, with characters like Duncan (Pete Davidson) and Creepy Tim (Tituss Burgess) the laughs never run dry.

This movie takes the classic set up of friends who eventually fall in love with the refreshing twist of using another relationship to bring them together. As a great lover and long-time watcher of romcoms, this movie is both comfortably familiar and excitingly fresh. It also has the added bonus of making me never want to be an executive assistant. Ever.

The characters are all so real. Instead of playing into classic movie gender roles, everyone is just an individual person with complex personalities which is always refreshing to see.

Set It Up is one of the best movies Netflix has made to this day, and I will always stand by that.
